Welcome All

Jo Sellick

As we have come to the end of Sellick Partnership's MPCL fixtures for 2009 thank you to all the teams that have participated in the League and for your commitment and support.

Yesterday's finals at Timperley provided a thoroughly enjoyable day of cricket in the sunshine.  It was well attended by family and friends of the teams adding to the enjoyable atmosphere of the day.  Congratulations to all teams that made it through to the semi-finals and finals and to Pinsent Masons LLP winners of the Cup Competition and Deloitte, winners of the Plate Competition.

I believe that the season has been a real success, with the majority of fixtures taking place despite poor weather in the first week that hindered many of the fixtures.  The feedback that I have personally received from individuals taking part has been extremely encouraging, with the teams adopting a real sense of sportsmanship and approaching the games in high spirits.  I know that Sellick Partnership have thoroughly enjoyed our games and getting to know many of you.

The MPCL 2009 will be celebrated at our Evening Awards Dinner on the 15th October at the Lowry Hotel.  We have had significant interest in the evening with a number of teams already securing tables.  There are still some tables available and I welcome your support in promoting the event to your friends and business contacts.  I am sure that the evening will prove extremely enjoyable with a champagne reception, evening meal and anecdotes from cricketer and media pundit, Jonathan Agnew, who may be able to provide useful tips for teams participating next year!  All of the proceeds will to go two extremely worthwhile causes in Manchester - St Ann's Hospice and the Lord's Taverners cricket charity.

We are also looking to host a Captains' Evening in September.  The evening will provide us with an opportunity to de-brief on this year's League, further details will follow.

Thank you once again for your support and commitment.  I look forward to seeing many of you at the Captain's Evening and Award Dinner over the coming months
