Rules

Each team to commit to SIX games.

Maximum of 3 overs per bowler > 8 ball overs > 15 overs.

  1. 25 runs and retire, able to return to bat if required.
  2. 1st and 2nd team go through into cup> knockout.
    3rd and 4th team go into plate > knockout.
  3. 4 leagues x 7 teams in league.
    Cup and Plate Competition = 8 Qtr Finals, 4 Semi Finals and 2 Finals
  4. Each team to umpire their own team, with each side policiing themselves
  5. No LBW - but this is not to be taken advantage of. Captains can talk if a problem.
  6. Umpires - more knowledgeable players of cricket to volunteer this duty.
    (x2 umpires - at wicket and square leg - benefit of doubt to batsman)
  7. If a game is rained off / does not reach conclusion, each team receives 1 point each.
  8. You will receive 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
  9. Each team must have a scorebook, and the Captain must sign off the results.
  10. Normal Cricket rules apply to wide balls (outside 2 lines of crease area - at umpires discretion)
  11. All games to start at 6pm prompt
  12. Flip a coin to decide who bats first or claim the toss. Agree it yourselves in a gentlemanly fashion.
  13. Beamers - Not a 'no ball' if the batsman hits the ball. If above waist height and obvious then batsmans decision - umpire awards no ball if batsman does not make attempt to hit ball. Cricket conduct applies.
  14. The subject of ringers is of serious concern, however we will be keeping it open. Priority goes to your firm!
  15. When all league games are played, in the event of level points the following will apply:
    1. If 1st and 2nd place teams are level the head to head result determines the winner
    2. if 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams are level, then average runs scored will be used.
  16. All Captains and Vice-Captains to be designated pre-start of the season. They are expected to adhere to the rules and ensure that the games are conducted in the right manner
  17. Provide own cricket balls and try for new balls each game. Also provide own score books.
