Who are you? What is your role? And what do you do?

My name is Kate Jasper and I'm a senior legal Recruitment Consultant. I recruit locum lawyers to the Public Sector, predominantly local government.

What do you enjoy about recruitment?

I love the pace of recruitment, there is never a dull moment. From the second you walk through the door in the morning until the moment you leave of an evening you literally don’t stop - which is how I function best!

I also relish the challenge. Targets are always a push to achieve and it is such a satisfying feeling when you smash them, knowing that it is down to all the hard work you have put in over the past few months.

Why did you choose recruitment as a career path?

I work best under pressure and with targets to aim for. I love a challenge and enjoy working closely with like-minded people, so recruitment seemed the logical option.

Since joining Sellick Partnership, what training / support have you received?

The support network at Sellick Partnership is immense! From the accounts team, to the MD, to members of the other offices, everyone notices good work and congratulates you on every success. Similarly no one ever makes you feel uncomfortable for asking for help. The Intranet is a fantastic way of keeping up to date with new developments and it is utilised effectively.

The initial training, both internal and external, is invaluable for those new to the business, regardless of past recruitment experience. Sellick Partnership offers continual training courses that act as a useful refresher and always provide you with new ideas and approaches.

What is your most memorable experience to date whilst working for Sellick Partnership?

The team building weekend was brilliant and by far my most memorable experience to date. Two days jam-packed full of fun and thought-provoking experiences. The activities were varied and provided a good mix of fun, personal development and drinking!
