AWR - The Agency Workers Regulations 2010

Agency Workers Regulations

The Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) are coming into force on October 1st 2011, and will impact on all organisations that use agency/temporary workers.

The legislation will give equal treatment to the majority of temporary workers, in line with comparable permanent employees or directly recruited workers, with regard to pay and other working conditions after a 12-week qualifying period.

Employers as well as agencies will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of this legislation, and therefore need to start preparing now in time for October 1st 2011.

What do you need to know?

Sellick Partnership have been working to interpret and understand the new legislation, alongside a number of industry bodies to produce a comprehensive guide outlining everything that you need to know about the AWR. The aim of this Guide is to help our clients understand the legislation, and to assist them in preparing for when the AWR comes into force.

Additionally, all employers are advised to undertake an impact assessment to ascertain the affect of the AWR on their specific organisation, enabling them to prepare fully for this new legislation. APSCo, the Association of Professional Staffing Companies, produced a free assessment guide, which is freely available for our clients.

These documents explain the main points in the regulations, along with some of the main questions to consider.
