CMI Management and Leadership Qualification

The senior management team at Sellick Partnership have been studying the CMI Management and Leadership qualification this year. I must say that at the start of the course I was unsure how much value it was going to add to all the individuals concerned, people who have been managing sizeable teams for 15 years plus. However, We have all agreed that we have learned lots of different things this year, lots of theory as well as putting the things we have learned into practice.

The modules have included:

  • Stepping into first line management
  • Focus on performance
  • Nurturing talent
  • Building high performance teams
  • Dynamic team leadership

As a group we have really bought into the course and used the skills we have learned to run a number of projects across the business over the last 12 months.

The course has been run by Lander Associates, we have had a variety of different trainers with different styles and so far we have passed all of the exams and coursework that we have been given.

It just goes to show you that however long you have been managing teams - there is always something you can learn; new ideas or techniques you can benefit from.

If you have moved into a new role recently or you have been using the same methods for managing your teams for a length of time, have a think about investing in some additional training for yourself. Or if you think the management team below you could do with some fresh ideas I would highly recommend the CMI course.
