Demand for NHS contractors on the rise...

Since Sellick Partnership were established in 2002, we have provided recruitment solutions to NHS organisations throughout significant periods of change with new legislation, economic turmoil and the demand of constant change.

Currently, the need for NHS contractors is soaring, despite the economic downturn. Due to the changes within the NHS, there has been an increased demand for specialist interim support. We are also finding that clients are keeping on to their good contract workers, offering extensions to help them over this time of change.

Consequently, when we are recruiting for posts, it is a hard find to secure the right candidate as there are a lack of people on the market at this stage.

We have most recently placed a few candidates that have made the decision to leave permanent posts to move into the interim market. We have also successfully placed a number of candidates that have taken redundancy from the NHS.

It is a changing and challenging market that we foresee will get a lot busier over the coming months.

Contracting, or locuming is an appealing way of working for a number of people, and candidates that are successful in this market tend to go from contract to contract. The NHS is a close market where hirers talk to each other regularly, so it is quite easy to get well known within this sector in a short space of time.

If you are considering becoming a contractor and would like a discussion about the interim market, then please do not hesitate to contact me on 0161 834 1642.
