Feedback: Are you getting yours?

Feedback is imperative in providing the right level of service, and as a company we continually endeavour to gather as much feedback as possible to relate back to our candidates.

For candidates, it's essential to gain as much constructive information to take into their next application and recruitment process. We often hear from many candidates that a lack of acknowledgement from applications is a key area of annoyance as they spend a significant amount of time and effort completing lengthy and detailed applications. Although they understand that detailed feedback isn't always feasible from an application alone, they feel that a total lack of acknowledgment is disheartening and has a discouraging effect.

During a recent conversation with a candidate, it was made apparent that they were feeling demoralised after not hearing anything back from other companies on both applications and interviews. Following an interview, feedback is essential in the growth and development of candidates and this is something that we will always pass on from our clients. Candidates will use constructive feedback to improve their interviewing skills and this feedback could play a key role in allowing them to attain their next position. Positive feedback is equally as important in boosting confidence and giving them an awareness of their key strengths.

My advice to candidates is to take a pro-active approach, stay in contact with companies and agencies and keep going in the quest for feedback!
