Social Media in the Workplace - CPD Seminar Event

As a business, Sellick Partnership Legal is acutely aware that the competition is high in our chosen sector. To be successful, we must make ourselves stand out from the rest of the crowd. It is paramount to our service that we provide continual support to our candidates and clients alike, and we continually sponsor annual events such as the SLG Weekend and the ACSeS conference. This September, we are hosting our second CPD event in London, with a view to aiding the career development of our main contacts in the London area.

This year's session is entitled 'Social Media in the Workplace' and will be held at 7 Bedford Row Chambers on Tuesday the 18th of September. The evening kicks off with registration at 4.30pm and the seminar itself will be held from 5.00pm until 7.00pm. Refreshments will be served during registration, and will continue with wine and nibbles after the seminar!

The event will provide a great platform for lawyers specialising in employment law, contract law and information law to discuss matters relating to the growing phenomenon of social media and its impact in the legal work place.

The session will be led by barristers Jeffrey Jupp and Patricia Leonard, who will cover the following topics:
 
· An overview of the legal framework , particularly in relation to data protection issues and the interplay between Article 8 rights and the right to privacy
· Drafting social media policies - the importance of consultation, dissemination and planning ahead
· Social media, an overview - a discussion of recent case law and exploring the impact of social media on disciplinary and dismissal issues

The event is offered by Sellick Partnership free of charge to our clients and candidates and each attendee will receive 2 CPD points, as well as the opportunity to network with our consultants, the barristers themselves, and fellow legal professionals. It is a fantastic opportunity to speak with councils you have always wanted to work for, or to discover a candidate who is keen for a career in your chosen field and could help the expansion of your existing team.
