Jo Sellick – Managing Director

Jo started his career in recruitment thirteen years ago, and started Sellick Partnership in 2002 – which has since become a highly successful financial and legal recruitment specialist. Jo started his career working in sales in Sheffield after graduating from university – but got his first break in recruitment a year later, working for Badenoch & Clark. After moving up within the business, he moved to work for Hitchenor & Maher Financial, before setting up on his own.

Jo Sellick - Managing Director

Although Managing Director of Sellick Partnership, Jo’s role remains very hands on, still maintaining a billing capacity within the company, as well as being responsible for the establishment, strategic development and growth of the firm. Since 2002, the business has grown organically from one office and one brand in Manchester, to six offices and four brands - with plans to open another two offices in the next 12 months.

Over the years Jo has developed strong relations with St Ann’s Hospice, a charity that aims to improve the quality of life of people living with life-threatening illnesses in Greater Manchester. And his keen pursuit of sport has led to the business being involved with a number of teams from youth to senior levels, enabling local teams to become more established within their regions.

Peter Tootell – Director

Peter is from a Finance background having held a variety of roles over the years, starting in Commercial banking in the North West. From here he incorporated and ran his own Specialist Finance Company for many years – as well as establishing a prestigious hotel on the side, which was later sold onto the Whitbread group.

Having sold out, Peter focused his time with both Salford and Huddersfield Universities business schools, providing them with his knowledge and experience – which resulted in over 60 start up companies being established, raising in excess of £1.6 million capital.

Peter and Jo met in 1995, and set up Sellick Partnership in 2001. From inception Peter ran the Finance and Administration function with Geoff Crichton, becoming more and more involved as the Group continued to expand. Over recent years Peter has taken a key role in the commercial side of the business, playing an integral part in the growth of the business.

Outside of the office, Peter is a keen follower of sport including cricket, football and hockey – and holds Treasurerships with a number of the local teams. As well as enjoying music and reading in his spare time.

Geoff Critchon – Retired Founding Finance Director

Having recently retired from the Sellick Partnership, Geoff played a key part in the success, growth and development of the business to date. He became involved in the business in 2002, having worked with Peter on a number of start-up companies at both Salford and Huddersfield universities.

Geoff has worked alongside Peter over the last six years, taking on the role of Finance Director – using his specialist knowledge from previous businesses he has ran over the years.
