Job Description

Working on an exclusive basis for an ambitious, vibrant and growing business based in Manchester, we are seeking a Financial Controller reporting directly to the MD.

This value adding position will be responsible for all aspects of financial and management accounting including the improvement of processes and providing commercial/operational business information to the Board.

As part of a small but very experienced team you will have responsibility and positive influence within the business. Duties include; sole responsibility for accounting and reporting on a monthly and annual basis, including statutory accounts, management accounts, budgets and forecasts; control and preparation of accruals and prepayments; maintaining the cash flow position and dealing with foreign exchange; business partnering with key internal stakeholders and challenging margins, cost base, new product launches and bid modelling; preparation and presentation of the board report with associates margins and recommendations; implementation of new financial systems and ensuring the continued development of process and procedures.You will be a qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA with a proven track record in leading a finance function within a growing SME.

You will have great influencing and presentation skills and have the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with all levels across the business. You will have the ability to formulate and implement the annual business strategy and have an input into business wide strategy; analytically focused to ensure a focus on the bottom line and cost base is met. You will have had extensive exposure to management and financial accounting, budgets, forecasting, business and financial planning. You need to have strong commercial acumen and the ability to critically review work to identify potential issues, weaknesses, errors and omissions. Good IT skills are required.
