Regeneration in Staffordshire…

A £20 million plan for regeneration in Staffordshire has made the Midlands team at Sellick Partnership think about the volume of opportunities for job seekers across the Public Sector and Commerce & Industry sectors. The project is a joint venture involving Advantage West Midlands and the North Staffordshire Regeneration Zone, Staffordshire County Council, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council. The potential redevelopment of Chatterley Valley will be one of the most important mixed use regeneration schemes to happen in Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle – anticipated to create over 5,000 jobs in North Staffordshire.

In addition to these plans, the Olympics 2012 is set to provide wide scale opportunity for Staffordshire organisations, and according to Staffordshire Business the "West Midlands is ideally placed to benefit from the range of economic and other opportunities that will arise from the 2012 Games". Already many businesses in the West Midlands are supplying the Olympic Delivery Authority, with over half of them being small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The London 2012 Business Network will help and support local businesses to compete for Games’ business opportunities (www.london2012.com/business).
