We are proud to work in partnership with Accounting for International Development (AfID), an organisation which provides accountants the opportunity to make a genuine difference by arranging for them to share their skills in overseas voluntary roles.

With our vast database of high calibre finance professionals, our relationship with AfID aims to benefit both those accountants looking to develop their international experience in meaningful voluntary projects, and the global communities in which the participating organisations serve.

AfID is now supporting over 350 charities and non-profit organisations in 50 countries across Africa, Asia and Latin America. Since its inception in 2009 AfID have placed over 900 volunteer accountants, taking the total hours of pro bono financial management coaching to over 225,000 which equates to over £10 million worth of professional services.

All partner organisations are undertaking exceptional work to tackle poverty and inequality within their respective communities – however, due to their limited resources they are unable to access vital accounting and financial management training.

Those who work with AfID therefore get the chance to make a real difference throughout the duration of their assignments, which range from two weeks to 12 months. Each placement is tailored to the individual’s skills and level of experience, their availability, passions and interests.

speech marksI've just returned from Namibia where AfID put me in touch with a rural based NGO. Through AfID I was able to do something I had wanted to do for years - use my skills to help people in another country. The contacts and support were excellent. I look forward to when I can do it again."
