Christmas Giving

It seemed as though Christmas was a million miles away just a couple of weeks ago and now it’s approaching a lot quicker than we would all probably like it too. In a survey 83%of people agreed that Christmas is about spending time with family and friends and personally I couldn’t agree more. 

Since the beginning of November people and businesses across the country have started to get into the festive. With the much anticipated John Lewis advert being released and Sainsbury’s advert equally as moving it is clear that both adverts are showing the importance of giving back and family. 

In a survey of people’s giving habits last Christmas, 85% of people said they give directly to charity at Christmas, donating an average of around £40 to the good causes they care about. And this year with 80,000 children in Britain waking up this Christmas morning homeless and in temporary accommodation (standing at a ten year high) the need is more than ever. So this year in our Liverpool office we are aiming to help those less fortunate by donating a shoebox to an organisation called ‘A Shoebox Full of Love’. 

A Shoebox Full of Love distributes shoeboxes donated by the public to refugees for adults and children fleeing domestic violence, homeless centres and to under privileged families across the Merseyside area. Last year they managed to put a smile onto 1500 faces who each received a shoebox full of items that we sometimes take for granted, you can read about the work they did last year here.
