International Festival for Business

June and July are important months in Liverpool's business calendar as our city will be hosting the International Festival for Business. I remember first reading about the festival well over 18 months ago and we saw the launch take place earlier this week.

The festival was launched in early 2013 by the Prime Minister with the full support of the government and UK Trade and Investment, and is a key part of the government's ambition to promote economic growth. This two month festival is series of events with an international focus and it is projected that there will be approximately 250,000 worldwide visitors to Liverpool attending circa 200 events.

Liverpool Vision, the organisation behind the IFB, is looking to get as many Merseyside businesses engaged as possible.

Joining the IFB Business Club is one way that people can get involved - this provides members with access to a range of services, facilities and business opportunities within the International Trade Hub, a central meeting point located at Mann Island.

Here at Sellick Partnership we are delighted to be getting involved with the festival.

We will be exhibiting at the "Grow Your Own Talent” conference taking place on 8th and 9th July. This event will be looking at recruitment options available to employers as well as offering employment sector advice. In addition it will provide the opportunity to consider how organisations can retain and motivate staff.

The two days will include conference sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities and workshops with various keynote speakers.

The International Festival for Business is a fantastic 'once in a life time' occasion for businesses to get involved in something that will provide the chance to make international contacts, exchange ideas, promote products and create new partnerships.

I know that this festival will be a huge success. It is really exciting to have something like this taking place in our wonderful city.

What impact do you think the IFB will have on Liverpool? Leave your thoughts and opinions below.
