Progress

2014 is now well under way.

January is traditionally a time when a lot of people set their resolutions and plan for the year ahead. However, research has found that whilst people start the year with all good intentions, many will abandon their resolutions by the time January is over.

As we find ourselves in February, perhaps now is a good time for those of us who have set resolutions and goals to think about how much progress we have made with them.

'Progress' is a forward or onward movement towards a goal or destination. It is really important to review progress on a regular basis as looking at what you have achieved helps maintain your focus and drive, as well as helping to keep you working towards your ultimate aim.

If for any reason you don't feel that you have made any progress at all then you should really look at why that is - was your original goal not achievable, or is that your heart simply isn't in it so you haven't dedicated enough time to it?

If you re-evaluate why you set your goals and what you wanted to achieve this will also help you. If you keep your resolutions SMART (specific, measureable, achievable, realistic and time based) and you have drive, determination and willingness to succeed you should always make some form of progress.

Always remember that progress can only ever be made with anything you want to achieve if you are proactive and actually do something about it. Why not make 2014 your most progressive year yet?

Share your resolutions below and tell us how you managed to keep them - or why they may have fallen off your radar.
