North East Sellick Partnership are delighted to be sponsoring the regional ACCA Lunch once again which will be held on Friday 14th October. The lunch is focused on career development for ACCA professionals but non ACCA members are also welcome to attend. With the Northern Counties Panel members working in leading firms such as Begbies Traynor Group, RSM and TIG Corporate Finance Limited, we are looking forward to meeting a mix of dynamic professionals at the event.

This year, the lunch will be held at  the Assembly Rooms in Newcastle which boasts a reputation as  one of the city centre’s premier conference and banqueting venues. The event is always well attended and hosted by interesting industry speakers. In previous years, we have been entertained by former MPs and senior business figures in the region. Last year, we were joined by James Ramsbotham, Chief Executive of the North East Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Darlington Building Society, Honorary Colonel for the Rifles in the North East and a Deputy Lieutenant for Co Durham (we crowned him as the busiest man in the North East!). James offered a fascinating overview of the bicentennial celebrations of the NECC, its role in the past and great work they do to assist businesses here in the North East. He also discussed the demise of SSI, but noted some positives developments in our area such as the thriving technology and science sectors.

This year Graeme Mason will chair the speech. As Planning and Corporate Affairs Director at Newcastle Airport, he has been instrumental in the development of the Airport including a major terminal extension, hotel, control tower, fuel farm and filling station. He also manages external relationships relating to environmental policy matters. Graeme also helped to create the Newcastle Aviation Academy, working with them to improve the customer experience. With other strings to his bow including sitting on the board of NGI and Northumberland Tourism, he takes an active role in discussions on regional transport issues. With transport at the heart of his interests, we expect to hear his thoughts post-Brexit on how our relationship may change with the rest of the world once Article 50 is triggered. It’s sure to be an informative debate.

The lunch is always enjoyable and informative and with over 20 attendees confirmed so far, don’t miss your chance to network with a dynamic audience and ACCA peers.
