How's your defence?

From the East Midlands HfMA annual NHS conference, to our Sellick Partnership team building two-day event, we have had a busy and exciting start to the autumn months.

The next event for the Sellick Partnership East Midlands team will take place on November 20th when we will have our fifth annual charity football tournament take place, in aid of the Maria Hanson Foundation.

Established in 2006, the charity provides memorable experiences for children and adults diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. Maria has also recently set up 'Daz's Den', in memory of her friend Darren Preston, who sadly passed away in 2014, which is the charities fourth donated luxury caravan, based at the seaside town of Mablethorpe. This caravan is dedicated to serving and ex-serving military personnel and their families, who have suffered life threatening injuries whilst in service, including PTSD. To date more than 1,300 families from across the UK have benefited from the Foundation's help and support.

The Maria Hanson Foundation was our Not-for-Profit Organisation Award Winner at the Derby Telegraph Business Awards 2015, and I have recently been appointed as an Ambassador, so we are very excited to be supporting the charity once again...

We are proud to hold this tournament year after year, which proves consistently popular amongst local organisations who are willing to rise to the challenge and show their support for our region's charities.  Each year the tournament gets bigger and better.  Last year 25 teams from organisations across the East Midlands entered. The winning cup champions were NHS Acute Trust Sherwood Forest Hospital and Accrofab were worthy runners up. Sellick Partnership won the plate tournament, with Flint Bishop following closely in second place.

The date of this year's event has been confirmed as Friday 20th November 2015. Running between 1.30 - 6pm, the tournament will take place at the Powerleague in Derby, for a small entry cost of £120 per team. This includes an afternoon of competitive football followed by an awards ceremony, raffle and buffet.

I do hope you will consider joining us to help with our goal to raise money for the Maria Hanson Foundation and of course have a great afternoon of networking and football.

So, how's your defence? Will your team be this years' football champions?
