Sellick Partnership has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant to join a dynamic and entrepreneurial business. This role will be perfect for an Accountant who wants to be a fully autonomous and take control of their team and day.

Purpose:

The purpose and main responsibility of the Accountant will be to be responsible for the technical reporting. You will actively challenge and promote working practices & procedures both within the finance team and wider business. In addition, you will lead a small transactional finance team, developing their experience-based learning through ongoing mentorship and sharing your wealth of knowledge.

Function of the Accountant:

Statutory Reporting - Including but not limited to: Annual Statutory accounts, monthly VAT Returns and ad-hoc National Statistics submissions. VAT knowledge/ experience is essential and a basic understanding of the Brexit impact on import VAT is desirable.

Cash Flow - You will be responsible for the daily maintenance and reporting of cashflow in-line with our banking facility, liaising with our relationship manager on an ad-hoc basis and assisting our Credit Controller during the annual audit process. You will also produce cashflow forecast's and feedback to head office when required.

Leadership - Managing and developing a small finance team including sales ledger/ credit control and purchase ledger functions, ensuring all ledger tasks are completed in a timely and accurate manner. You will be responsible for all transaction level entries produced by the finance team, taking on mentorship management to promote integrity and unity within our team. In turn, with the support of your manager through coaching and training, you will personally develop and achieve the highest standards of professional and commercial excellence.

Communication - You will liaise as and when required at Group level therefore you will need to be a strong and confident communicator at all levels tailoring your approach to the given scenario and audience, you will actively encourage open and honest discussions to develop and enhance best practice within our finance team, but also across the business.

Role Requirements:

  • Previous experience of statutory reporting, cashflow management and VAT
  • Excellent reporting and technical skills
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
