Accountant

Experienced Accountant sought for a public sector organisation based in South Yorkshire for a temporary assignment.

The Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinate and prepare documentation for the Budget Setting process
  • Ensuring month end processes are followed and completed in a timely manner
  • Prepare the capital, grants and saving appendices for the Budget monitoring report
  • Carrying out month-end capital procedures including completion and consolidation of all capital returns
  • Complete all year-end tasks whilst ensuring all documentation is maintained in accordance with accountant standard and audit requirements.
  • Co-ordinate, develop and produce the annual Asset Management Plan
  • Completing and submitting external returns

The ideal candidate for The Accountant role should ideally have:

  • Be a qualified CCAB or CIMA accountant or studying for CCAB or CIMA
  • Experience of working in the public sector
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience is Management accounts
  • Be up to date with current accounting issues
  • Experience in staff supervision

The successful Accountant should also be a good team player, and communicate well in a highly pressurised environment.

The Accountant role will be a temporary contract for 6 months minimum.
