Sellick Partnership are exclusively recruiting for an Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our growing client on a full time and permanent basis, based in Stoke-on-Trent. This role is newly created and is a great opportunity to gain exposure to a various duties.

The duties of the Accountant/Bookkeeper include:

  • Setting up Limited companies from start to finish, which includes sending engagement paperwork, incorporation, VAT registration and registration for Corporation Tax
  • Reviewing statutory accounts and corporation tax computations
  • Dealing with tax queries and providing tax advice
  • Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients
  • Reviewing and completing self-assessment tax returns
  • Interpreting accounts to clients if figures need explanations

The ideal Accountant/Bookkeeper will have the following:

  • Knowledge or experience in a similar role would be desirable
  • Part qualified or qualified in AAT/ACCA/ACA/CIMA or qualified by experience
  • Confident and helpful telephone manner
  • Knowledge of VAT, general accounts and Tax is essential, and IR35 is desirable
  • Organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to be discreet, diplomatic, reliable and trustworthy
