Adult Social Care Lawyer required to join a friendly and supportive legal team at a local authority based in West London.

As an Adults Lawyer, your role will be primarily providing legal advice on matters relating to the Council's adult social care and health related functions. This may include:

  • Community Care
  • Court of Protection
  • DoLs
  • NRPF
  • Judicial Reviews

Essential knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to obtain and evaluate evidence, prepare cases and appear as advocate on behalf of the council before tribunals, courts and other bodies in both contested and uncontested cases
  • A clear and systematic approach to problem solving
  • Ability to research other areas of law and policy effectively and to apply that research to meet the client's needs
  • Competent ICT skills including basic keyboard skills, familiarity with word-processing packages, case management systems and simple databases or ability to acquire the same

The successful candidate must have relevant experience as an admitted solicitor, barrister or a legal executive. Those with previous experience of working within a local authority are highly desirable and candidates from a private sector experience are very much welcomed to apply if they have relevant expertise.
