Sellick Partnership is currently assisting a local authority based in London with the recruitment of an Adult Social Care Paralegal for an initial 3 month basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, friendly team within a sought-after local authority. The role allows for autonomy and you will be able to carry your own individual caseload under supervision. The work will be varied and provide excellent experience across many interesting legal fields including community care, mental health and mental capacity law. The main duties for this role include:
- Supporting the lawyers within the team to progress cases
- Drafting pleadings
- Administrative preparation of welfare and Deprivation of Liberty authorisation cases in the Court of Protection
- Ordinary Residence disputes
- Threats of Judicial Review and other casework relating to Adult Social Care
The successful candidate will ideally come from a local authority background, although this is not essential if a good understanding of public law in practice is demonstrated.
