Adults (ASC) Solicitor
£40k - £50k
An opportunity has arisen for an Adults Social Care Solicitor to join a local authority on a 12 month fixed term contract.
As an Adults Solicitor you will predominately deal with Court of Protection matters. You will make/ respond to Court of Protection applications, covering welfare cases, financial cases and Section 21A's and deal with Deprivation of Liberty safeguards. In addition to this you advise on Ordinary Residence, represent clients and advise on assessments under the Care Act.
You will also act as lead contact in respect of all ASC duty queries and advise in relation to Judicial Review cases. Other responsibilities will include advising on the Local Authority's obligations relating to Community Care, NRPF, safeguarding, displacement of nearest relative and other matters under the Mental Health Act 1983. All hearings are currently being held remotely.
Required skills and experience:
- Qualified solicitor with proven experience in ASC Law within a Local Authority would be a preference although Private Practice candidates will be considered.
- A minimum of 4 years' PQE
