Are you looking for your next opportunity to lead a Planning team? Have you dealt with a range of complex and major planning applications?

Our client, a local authority based in Worcestershire are searching for a knowledgeable Area Planning Officer to join and support their Development Team.

Duties and responsibilities of the Area Planning Officer include:

  • Dealing with major and complex planning applications including S78 planning appeals
  • Leading a management team on all aspects of development management
  • Reporting to local bodies on applications and providing appropriate advice
  • Issuing planning decisions under delegated responsibility
  • Site inspections, negotiations and consultations
  • Preparations of Proofs of Evidence and Written Representations on appeals
  • Providing advice on development plans, planning guidance and policy strategies

Essential experience required:

  • Good oral and written skills
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Experience in general development
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Planning Law and Practices
  • Qualification in Planning
  • RTPI membership
  • Driving Licence with access to vehicle
