BI and Analytics Consultant (Alteryx/Tableau)
Salary: £70,000 - £75,000
Duration: 12 months fixed term contract
Sellick partnership has been engaged to recruit a Business Intelligence and Analytics Consultant (Alteryx/Tableau) on a 12 months fixed term contract. The organisation is a fast moving, highly acquisitive, PE backed entrepreneurial service based business based in Cheshire.
This exciting opportunity is a broad and all-encompassing role reporting into the Group Commercial Finance Director. The Business Intelligence and Analytics Consultant will have strong Tableau and Alteryx knowledge and experience to help them broaden their coverage, providing insights and solutions to senior level stakeholders to facilitate and promote data-driven decision making, enabling the successful delivery of projects.
Working closely with the business divisions in providing genuine commercial insight and analytical support, you will have great exposure with all areas of the business; working closely with the non-finance teams, aiding them in making sound conclusions following your analysis.
You will provide analysis to understand drivers of variances to plan and help drive revenue growth. In addition, you will also provide support to the operations side of the business by providing ad-hoc financial modelling / analysis to support insight and recommendations and look for ways to constantly develop management information either by building on existing processes, or where appropriate, by working with new and automated solutions.
The successful applicant needs to come from a similar role and be able to demonstrate your commercial awareness to enable a focus on both revenue and margins to really drive commercial benefit and add value to the financials.
You will have:
- Strong Tableau experience.
- Strong Alteryx experience.
- Excellent Tableau Dashboard design experience.
- Experience of SQL, relational databases, and normalisation. You will need to be comfortable with the ETL and data integration processes and have an interest in Machine Learning and predictive analytics.

You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities. You will have a high attention to detail with an analytical approach to working, be self-motivated with a proactive attitude and a strong sense of autonomy and have experience of working with / partnering teams outside of core finance.
You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail.
