Building Surveyor
Permanent, Full time
£27758 - £29594 per annum

Building Surveyor required to work with a Nottinghamshire based public sector organisation. My client are seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team on a permanent, full time basis.

As the Building Surveyor you will be working within reactive maintenance, repairs and improvements dealing with domestic properties. You will perform Building Surveyor duties alongside other duties as below:

Responsibilities of the Building Surveyor include:

  • Carrying out stock condition surveys of domestic properties
  • Completing pre and post inspections of tenanted and void properties
  • Carrying out internal and external building inspections
  • Diagnosing defects, making technical decisions and drawing up specifications for work
  • Allocating work and ensuring these are carried out to a high quality and within time limits and raising performance problems and seeking prompt resolutions where necessary
  • Implementing agreed planned maintenance and building compliance programmes
  • Preparing specifications and drawings and contract documentation for tenders and quotations
  • Visiting tenants, investigating complaints and working to resolve these through thorough investigation
  • Liaising with contractors, DLO and other staff, providing technical and legislative advice where required
  • Developing schedules of repair; making recommendations for consideration for inclusion in the annual planned maintenance work programme

Required skills and experience of the Building Surveyor:

  • Experience of working as a Building Surveyor; dealing with repairs and maintenance of domestic properties
  • Exposure in carrying out stock condition surveys
  • Successfully supervised and monitored contractors
  • Up to date building regulations knowledge including CDM and Asbestos and also Health & Safety legislation
  • Experience in carrying out pre and post work inspections
  • ONC in Building Surveying/Services or an equivalent qualification
  • Possess a valid Driving License and have access to vehicle
