Business Analyst

A well know organiosation situated in the centre of Newcastle are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst on a 6-9 month interim contract.

The Business Analyst will be expected to:

  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, discovery activities to elicit requirements/user stories from stakeholders
  • Produce and own business user requirements documentation, functional specification, process flows and other documentation as needed
  • Collaborate with the Scrum Master and Product Owner to translate user stories into technical specifications for implementation
  • Supporting the build, test, training and deployment project processes, making sure that the business requirements are delivered and the solution will be fit for purpose
  • Generate test cases for implementation in TDD, following collaborative determination of acceptance criteria
  • Collaborating with other Digital teams working in an Agile environment to deliver more features faster
  • Support the Product Owner in the analysis for activities
  • Collation, management and tracking of progress against KPIs
  • Visualisation of technical and business process flows to aide problem solving and solution development
  • Refinement and management of Project Backlog under the direction of the Product Owner
  • Manage stakeholder alignment and communication at various levels in conjunction with the Project Manager

Accountable to the Project Team Lead, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record of executing comparable projects. Candidates must be able to evidence:

  • Must be able to demonstrate previously taking complex digital projects from inception to delivery working in conjunction with UX and Design teams and developers
  • Complex delivery with significant levels of integration and business process change
  • Relentlessly driving delivery in a federated environment with competing priorities
  • Working with project teams comprising of individuals with reporting lines into other parts of the organisation.
  • Experience working as a BA within an Agile Scrum team using JIRA
  • Solid Business Analysis experience and background working within a Digital team
  • Good understanding of User Experience and Customer Journey concepts
  • Experience in Concept and User Testing techniques
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Applied knowledge of Business Process Modelling techniques
  • Must possess a strong work ethic, good communication skills and a solid understanding of Agile methodologies

Ideally, candidates will also be able to evidence:

  • Implementation of solutions which involve a marketing automation platform
  • Experience of working within or with the Higher Education sector (or similar)
  • Experience of communicating with a PMO and senior stakeholder who are familiar with a waterfall methodology
