Capital Accountant

Sellick Partnership has been engaged on an exclusive basis to recruit a Capital Accountant on a 9 month Fixed Term Contract basis. The Capital Accountant is responsible for implementing systems and processes relating to the following projects:

  • IFRS16 data collection, reporting,
  • Fixed Asset Register, data cleansing, implementation of a new system and processes
  • Automation of the Capital Reporting process

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the implementation of a system for accurate reporting of leases under IFRS16
  • Validation of existing data/identification of missing data
  • Implementation of new system
  • Implementation of new processes
  • Reporting of data collection requirements
  • Reconciliation/validation post implementation
  • Automation of the Capital Reporting Process
  • Liaison with stakeholders to identify requirements
  • Development of existing processes
  • Improvement of capital ledger coding structure
  • Creation of new system generated reports
  • Building positive relationships with customers/stakeholders, providing accurate and timely financial information, guidance, support and challenge as and when necessary.
  • Keep up to date with latest interpretation and guidance regarding IFRS16 and assessing any financial or operational impact on the relevant area.
  • Attend any project meetings and carry out any project tasks as required, providing support, challenge or financial information as appropriate.

Ad-hoc Projects:

  • To undertake project work as required by the Senior Capital Accountant

Additional General Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that there are up to date, written procedure notes in place for all areas of responsibility.
  • To support internal and external audit in their role in auditing the accounts and financial information, ensuring issues of contention and recommendation are brought to a satisfactory conclusion.
  • To attend any committees or groups as appropriate to ensure the financial implications of any discussions/decisions are explained fully.
  • Ability to work flexibly, some travel between sites will be required.
  • The post holder may be required to undertake other duties and responsibilities as determined by their line manager within the overall parameters of the post.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a good understanding of capital accounting and have a proven track record of influencing and working with stakeholders to deliver objectives.
