An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Capital Actuary to join their skills with a leading Automotive Insurer.

This role presents a rare opportunity for an ambitious Actuary/Capital Analyst with excellent analytical skills to make an instant impact within a growing Actuarial function. .

Responsibilities of the Capital Actuary:

    • Lead capital model development in WTW Igloo platform (coding and review experience in WTW Igloo platform required to achieve this)
    • Lead capital modelling in Igloo
    • Contribute to experience analysis and assumption setting
    • Support the group capital management process and reporting
    • Work with our audit teams
    • Support annual life and general insurance reserve company reporting to the PRA
    • Prepare Chief Actuary component reports
    • Support the successful operation of Assurant's Solvency and Capital Committee structure through delivery of work items; tight version control and partner management skills
    • Support pricing through analysis of capital requirements and supporting deal ROE metrics

Skills and experience of the Capital Manager/Capital Actuary:

  • Circa 5+ years of Capital experience and 3+ years of managerial experience or be a Qualified Actuary with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience
  • Demonstrable track record of working within a Capital team is highly advantageous
  • Previous exposure to Commercial Lines of business would be preferable, though candidates from a Personal Lines background will also be considered
  • Strong technical skills with prior experience of using software such as SQL and Igloo would be advantageous
  • Demonstrable track record of Line Management experience would be advantageous
  • Proficiency in Igloo is required
