Childcare Lawyer required to join a local authority based in London on a locum basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy Childcare department within a popular local authority.

The successful candidate will be required to hit the ground running and undertake a full childcare caseload of both public proceedings and pre proceeding matters. The caseload will be varied, and will involve attending Legal Planning Meetings, PLO meetings and Advocates meetings.

The ideal Childcare Lawyer will have advocacy experience, as the Council would like the successful lawyer to conduct advocacy, which may involve;

  • Case management hearings
  • Issue resolution hearings
  • Straightforward final hearings

Due to the workload involved, this client is looking for a Lawyer who has experience of undertaking children's safeguarding work, ideally within the public sector. However, the market is currently very busy with opportunities for locum Childcare Lawyers, so we encourage candidates from a private practice background to send their CV in, as there may be other suitable opportunities available.
