We're delighted to be recruiting for a Childcare Lawyer to join an East London Borough Council on a locum 3 month basis, with the potential of a longer period covering maternity leave.

The Childcare Lawyer will have their own caseload of around 10 files or more, at any one time, including matters such as neglect and care cases; they will also be processing emergency protection orders and attending PLO meetings. The caseload further depends on the complexity of files and how much advocacy the Childcare Lawyer takes on.

The Council work flexibly across the team, offering working from home on an ad hoc basis and other flexible working arrangements. Public transport links are located nearby.

The Childcare Lawyer should have extensive experience of public childcare law, either from a local authority background or private practice. The Childcare Lawyer will be expected to pick up a busy caseload, conduct their own advocacy and work with minimal supervision.

The Council will consider Childcare Lawyers seeking a 4-day week.
