Sellick Partnership are looking for a Childcare Lawyer to join a popular South London Borough Council on a locum contract.
Due to increased workload, the council need a Childcare Lawyer with local authority experience, who is confident in running their own caseload of childcare cases. The contract is expected to go onto an ongoing basis and duties will include:
- Providing advice to the client and other stakeholders
- Actively working on 8-10 care cases in proceedings
- Working on up to 5 cases that are in pre-proceedings, where the proceedings aren't issued yet but there is close working with the family to try to avoid this
- Participation in a duty roster 3-4 days per month, providing advice on ad hoc queries
Conducting advocacy is not a requirement of the Childcare Lawyer, but should you wish to do this, the council would happily allow for it.
Currently the role will be conducted remotely, returning to the offices in the future.
