I am recruiting for a legal assistant/paralegal to join a well established in house legal services team which specialises in Children's Law. This role is to join a very good client of mine and feedback from candidates is excellent on both their ethics and work practices.
The role is to join their team as a locum legal assistant/paralegal specialising in public childcare cases. This is to cover for a period of maternity leave and is expected to last 6 months minimum. The work is done on a full time locum basis and the team works 35 hours per week. Given the current national situation you will collect a lap top and phone on your first day from their central Birmingham offices and shall work remotely for the foreseeable. Once lock-down ends you will be required to work in the Birmingham offices, which are easily reachable by both public transport and car.
You would receive all training and induction on line and would be allocated a specific time to meet with a member of IT and set up all your logins, to reduce contact with others as much as possible.
My client is looking for a legal assistant to help with matters and filing relating to the care cases. You would work one to one with a designated solicitor and be able to assist on their cases and build a strong and meaningful working relationship with that chosen individual. The work is highly sensitive and time pressures are great, so they are looking for someone who has excellent diary management and multi-tasking skills.
***Previous experience of working on public childcare cases is essential*** Given the current lock-down situation and the fact that all work will be done remotely from home my client is unable to offer training to anyone without previous experience in public childcare cases. If you do have a sound working knowledge of Care Act cases and are looking for your next challenge then please do apply today!
We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Kate Jasper in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
