Opportunity for a Childcare Legal Officer with a London Borough Council.

A London Local Authority have a vacancy on their team for a Childcare Legal Officer to join them on a locum 3-month contract with the view to extend on a rolling contract.

The Childcare Legal Officer should have strong experience in Public Childcare Law and will have run their own caseload of matters.

The team are really friendly and supportive, and the Council provide necessary assistance and training. This is a great opportunity to build on your experience while handling interesting files and working with a great team. If you're coming from a private practice background this is an excellent opportunity to get into local government.

The Childcare Legal Officer will:

  • Hold personal responsibility for child protection matters, such as non-accidental injury, abuse and neglect
  • Support lawyers and senior lawyers with their caseloads
  • Draft including applications, letters of instructions, case summaries, etc.
  • Attend court with counsel
  • Attend LPMs and pre-proceedings meetings
