Childcare Paralegal required to join a large organisation on a permanent basis.
Sellick Partnership is currently working in partnership with a high performing social enterprise law firm which provides legal services across the public and not to profit sector. This practice is seeking to increase their social services team due to the successful demand within their public childcare department and as such is seeking a Childcare Paralegal to join their legal services team.
This is a brilliant opportunity to be part of a welcoming team that nurtures its paralegals and allows them to undertake interesting work. This role would be ideal for an ambitious Childcare Paralegal who wants to get stuck in to a busy workload as opposed to mainly handling administrative matters.
The successful Childcare Paralegal will undertake a busy workload, where duties will include managing a caseload comprising mainly of children's social care matters, although there may be the opportunity to enhance your skillset and pick up adults social care matters too. Additionally, you will provide support to Lawyers in the preparation of cases in courts whilst holding a caseload which will equip you well for when you apply for training contracts.
Day to day workload and act as a point of contact on a variety of cases, which will involve the following duties;
- Undertaking PLO matters
- Taking instructions and giving advice
- Carrying out research
- Preparing applications for court
- Drafting documents and correspondence
- Commissioning and instructing expert witnesses
- Liaising with witnesses
- Attending meetings
- Providing advice and representation in courts or tribunals
