Sellick Partnership is working in partnership with Birmingham Children's Trust, the largest provider of children's social care in the UK. This highly regarded in-house organisation is looking to strengthen its current legal services team with the addition of two new Childcare Solicitors. The two Childcare Solicitors we are seeking will join an expanding team and help deliver on one of its strategic priorities of providing effective legal advice and advocacy work in the family courts. The Trust, based in central Birmingham, has already proved its ability to make improvements and is now looking to strengthen its current in-house team with the addition of two new Childcare Solicitors.
Successful Childcare Solicitor applicants will work as part of a motivated, supportive and friendly Legal Services team. You will be tasked with working autonomously on a caseload of Childcare matters and will have the benefit of your own legal assistant to aid case management. Aside from this, you will have the added benefit of a centralised administration team to assist with work. You will join a stable and experienced team of 6-8 individuals, all working closely together in an extremely supportive working environment. As a Childcare Solicitor you will be involved in interesting, challenging, and rewarding work; work that will give you the satisfaction of accomplishment that can come from helping vulnerable children and their families. You will have the advantage of undertaking advocacy at centrally located courts. You will also work very closely with the internal clients you provide advice to, assisting in developing successful long term working relationships. Working in a collaborative environment, one which encourages schools, health professionals and the police to work together ensures the Childcare Solicitors can do the best job possible for their clients and their teams.
The successful Childcare Solicitor will ideally have some working knowledge of childcare or family law. However, this is not essential and we welcome applications from driven candidates who have worked in any litigious area of the Law who are looking for a new challenge and to develop in a new area. My client is unique in this respect. It is rare to be offered the opportunity to break into this rewarding area of the Law. You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/Legal Executive with a current Practising Certificate. You will have access to an internal, well-structured Induction Programme and manual, alongside the support and guidance of members of the senior management team.
