An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Lawyer to join a Local Authority within East of England. This is a fantastic chance for an enthusiastic individual to gain exposure into the public sector, dealing with a broad range of contracts and housing litigation work.
Our client is seeking a Commercial Lawyer to join the council's legal services team for an initial 3 month. The successful candidate will be responsible for dealing with a range of contract and litigation matters to include;
- Service, supply and works contracts
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on contracts in relation to construction, service level agreements, loan agreements, consultancy and IT matters
- sales of parts of land and an acquisition of public open space
- Advising on TUPE implications of prospective service provision change
- Dealing with disrepairs and possession claims
We are really keen to hear from candidates who have a real desire to work within the public sector. We believe this position would be really well suited to lawyers with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification-experience.
This role offers a competitive hourly rate and whilst Public Sector background is desirable, those from a private practise background will be considered.
