Our client is a large local authority looking to recruit a locum complaints officer to their team. As a complaints officer you will ensure that the Directorate meets its statutory duties and responsibilities in respect of complaints. You will be responsible for improving the consistency, effectiveness and efficiency of the Council's Corporate and Statutory Complaints service. The complaints officer ensures continuous improvement of processes within the service. You will work closely with the Complaints Manager, reporting on outcomes and themes from complaints and representations to form a basis for performance measurement and quality assurance development, and to inform continuous improvement cycles.The ideal candidate will have previously worked in a complaints officer capacity, and will have knowledge and experience in the areas below:

- Local Authority Social Services Act 1970 (inserted by the National Health Service & Community Care Act 1990)

- Children Acts 1989 and 2004

- Local Authorities' Social Services and National Health Service Complaints (England) Regulations 2009

- Children Act 1989 Representations Procedure (England) Regulations 2006

As the successful complaints officer you will be tasked with working across directorates to promote good customer services and provide a timely and resolution-focused approach to complaints. you will be able to guide service area managers and ensure best practice. This post includes line management responsibilities for support members of the complaints team.
