Purpose of Role

In your role as Compliance Team Leader, you will provide leadership to the compliance team, supporting the Compliance Manager and provide second in command support, as well as administration and compliance support to the recruitment team. You will work alongside a team of compliance experts and a team of Consultants to provide an internal and external compliance service. You will work closely with candidates to handle their personal information in order for them to start their new role, from registration stage all the way through to placement. You will liaise closely with the internal Sales team to ensure candidates commence their roles on time and are fully supported throughout the length of their assignment. The ability to team lead internally, as well as operate efficiently externally are essential skills for this role.

Role and responsibilities


  • Liaising with candidates to agree and negotiate candidate start dates
  • Investigate compliance requirements for live vacancies
  • Tracking offered candidates using Microsoft Excel and our internal CRM system, Bond Adapt
  • Taking a proactive approach to chasing compliance with all 'hot candidates'
  • Applying for all local government and non-local government references and responding to agency requests
  • Compile all correct documentation to upload candidates to external MSPs
  • Actively tracking tenure discounts for active contractors
  • Sending update service to all DBS checked candidates
  • Providing new starters with payment status information and providing them with MSP login information
  • Ending candidate assignments on all relevant portals
  • Dealing with timesheet queries for contractors and inputting hours where required
  • Leading on external audits where required


  • Leading the team and working with the Compliance manager to support the team
  • Acting as second in command in manager absence, dealing with live queries on the desk, as well as dealing with sick leave and annual leave requests
  • Acting as internal audit lead, taking responsibility for ensuring audits are prepared and ready for external audit
  • Taking responsibility for training new and existing staff where required in conjunction with manager
  • Making recommendations for ongoing improvements and undertaking delivery
  • Supporting with the management of workflow across the team, in the managers absence
  • Liaising with the internal sales team
  • Taking part in twice daily team meetings to enforce processes and communications around compliance and MSP activity
  • Offering expert compliance knowledge to support Consultants with interview preparation and confirmations
  • Updating Bond with new starter information
  • Communicating new job opportunities to the Consultants using MSP access to maximise opportunities

KPIs, objectives and deadlines

  • Ensuring all audits are prepared and ready for external audit in timely fashion
  • Ensuring all right to work and time sensitive documents are tracked and monitored to ensure candidates remain compliant
  • Ensuring Precision and MSP end dates are accurate, chased, monitored and communicated
  • Verifying documents at point of receipt and labelling them accurately on Bond
  • Objective is to reduce the volume of emails by increasing outbound calls
  • Team objective to improve/maintain external audit scores to an average of 95% and above
