A popular east London borough are looking for a qualified contracts lawyer with data protection law experience to join their team, for an initial period of 3-6 months with potential for further extension.

The successful contracts lawyer would be expected to provide legal advice on a wide range of contract law matters and data protection, ad hoc project work and procurement projects.

As a data protection and commercial you will be expected to:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance on:
    • Existing contracts in order to ensure compliance with GDPR and the Date Protection Act 2018
    • Preparing, maintaining and updating legal documents and contracts, in relation to GDPR and other relevant data protection/privacy legislation.
  • Demonstrate experience of handling a caseload of data protection, contracts and procurement law matters including procurements under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015.
  • Develop legal solutions in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Further, to advise on practical implications of data protection legislation.
  • Provide contractual drafting and have experience with data transfer, data processor and data-sharing agreements.

The borough are looking for a qualified Solicitor with at least 2 PQE or Barrister or Fellows of the Institute of Legal Executives with post-qualification experience. Local Authority experience is advantageous but not essential.
