Contracts and Procurement Lawyer required to join a busy Local Authority in Hertfordshire on a locum basis.
Our client is seeking a capable and hard-working Lawyer who will be able to carrying out a range of legal work with minimal supervision. The team are therefore seeking a Lawyer with previous experience of dealing with a variety of routine and complex Contracts and Procurement matters within Local Government.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
- Drafting legal documents (letters, agreements, deeds, notices, orders, consents, by-laws)
- Negotiating agreements and settlements
- Implementing decisions taken in pursuance of the Council's functions
- Providing governance and procurement input in project teams
- Negotiate drafting of contracts and other arrangements for shared or integrated services
- Delivering major projects
- Conducting training seminars where appropriate
In return, our client is offering a competitive hourly rate of £40 to £45 per hour and flexible working arrangements such as home working and a condensed week.
The assignment can be up to 30 hours per week depending on your other working or non-working commitments. It will begin on an initial 3 months basis, with a view for extension.
The Local Authority is conveniently based for national public transport and is just a few minutes' walk from the nearest train station.
