Contracts Manager

An exciting interim opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a leading and innovative public sector organisation in Merseyside for an initial three month period

As Interim Contracts Manager you will be:

  • Supporting the Assistant Director to develop and deliver the commissioning strategies
  • Providing detailed analysis and support to providers in order to develop their businesses to match the needs of the community
  • Engaging with key stakeholders and partners to develop a current map of the local market is in place including the analysis of local needs and identifying supply and demand trends
  • Managing a team of 5 staff
  • Supporting the Assistant Director with overseeing the budget on behalf of the organisation and partnered agencies for the commissioned contracts
  • Ensuring commissioned services are of a high quality and value for money
  • Taking corrective action where required for under-performing commissioned services

The successful Contract Manager applicant:

  • Previous experience in a managing a particular service area
  • Staff management experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience of managing budgets with a commercial awareness and financial understanding
  • Excellent business partnering skills
  • Must be engaging and able to communicate with individuals at all levels
  • Public sector experience, local government background is highly advantageous
