Corporate and Democratic Support Officer required to join a local authority based in Hertfordshire.

We are looking for a Support Officer with up-to-date knowledge of Local Government Law and procedures relating to the political management and decision-making processes of the Council.

The successful candidate will have able to work quickly and accurately under pressure and to strict deadlines, responding to changing priorities whilst keeping routine work up to date. Your daily duties will include:

  • Managing and processing complaints
  • Attending committee meetings
  • Answering telephone enquiries
  • Researching files and records
  • Collating information from different sources

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisation skills, along with:

  • High degree of political awareness
  • Able to take own initiative
  • High levels of tact, discretion and diplomacy at all times with regards to business, personal and political confidences
  • Able to work co-operatively in teams
