Sellick Partnership are working with a fantastic Local Authority based in the East Midlands who are looking to appoint an experienced Democratic Services Officer for a 6+ month interim assignment.
The successful candidate will be required to assist with matters which may include:
- Arranging meetings of Council, Cabinet, Planning & Licensing Committees, Sub-Committees, Working Groups and Chair briefings via video link
- Preparation of agenda, reports, decision schedules, action sheets and meeting minutes
- Ensuring that information on meetings and support papers are available through the Council's document retention process and Modern.Gov
- Advising Council committees and working parties on correct procedures, relevant legislation and interpreting standing orders
The post is initially for 6 months but will be reviewed again nearer the time and potentially extended. The ideal candidate will be available for full-time work, although applicants who are seeking part-time employment will also be considered.
This is a 100% remote working role for the duration of the assignment and is accompanied with a competitive hourly rate. Previous experience within Democratic Services is essential to be considered for the post and you must be confident with hosting committees via video link.
