Deputy Head of Legal with a popular local authority.
An unmissable opportunity to join a well-regarded council as their Deputy Head of Legal, leading and managing the provision of legal services for Major Projects, Planning, Highways, Property and Contracts.
Sellick Partnership are looking to hear from experienced candidates who have worked within local government and knowledgeable in the abovementioned areas of law. The Deputy Head of Legal will work closely with the Senior Lawyers of Contracts, Planning and Property, assisting with line management and strategic planning.
- Leading on planning, contracts, highways, regeneration and property
- Inputting and delivering of regeneration and major projects work
- Deputising for the Assistant Director of Law and Governance
- Preparing reports and comments on reports
- Attending meetings and committees
- Managing and supervising teams, including training and staff development
The Deputy Head of Legal will have local government experience and knowledge of the areas of law involved in the post.
This is a lovely role with both an interesting workload and with a great team. It will be remote-working with office attendance only for committees.
Positions like this don't come about often and when they do offer great opportunities and scope. Experience in all the areas of the role isn't required, a willingness to learn and pick up new areas is key to the position.
