Education Lawyer is required to join a social enterprise firm which prides itself on being one of the market leaders for providing an effective legal service to public sector clients. This firm is a large organisation which solely deals with public sector work with a main focus on local authority matters for various clients. This means that no day is the same and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of matters at varying levels of complexity to allow you to really develop yourself as an excellent education lawyer.

You will be joining a wider well established team of litigation lawyers with a small team of education and SEN lawyers and paralegals. You will be required to undertake work on behalf of local authorities, schools and academies which will involve handling a caseload and advice work to your clients.

This is an extremely niche area of law and as such our client is happy to consider candidates at varying levels of experience. As the team has a range of experience, the cases can be delegated accordingly and in-house training is always encouraged to assist you with areas of development.

Such matters will include but are not limited to:

  • Handling matters in relation to special educational needs
  • Exclusion appeals
  • Disability discrimination claims
  • Admission appeals
  • Challenges brought to the authority including Judicial Reviews
  • Cost applications
  • Safeguarding

Our client has three sites so you have the opportunity to decide which office is more suited to yourself; this includes Northampton, Huntingdon and Shefford. The post can offer a level of flexibility with reduced working hours and working from home for those that need it. We encourage part time and full time lawyers to apply.

Having successfully placed into this organisation throughout the year and receiving excellent feedback all round, this is an opportunity not to be missed.

We encourage interested applicants to apply immediately to be considered for short listing. Alternatively should you require further information or wish to discuss your suitability before applying please contact Chelsey Newsom in our Manchester office for a confidential discussion.
