Employment and Governance Lawyer is required to join a social enterprise firm on a permanent basis which is a lead on providing services to public sector clients.
You will be required to undertake a caseload of contentious and non contentious employment matters. There will be a full range of matters due to handling a range of clients and this will include unfair dismissals, TUPE, HR related matters, equal pay and general employment claims to name a few. Advocacy in employment tribunals will be part of the role.
There is a strong level of advice work involved in this role due to a number of clients needing advice on an adhoc basis so candidates must feel confident in providing written and oral advice on a regular basis.
As this is a split role, there will be a significant amount of governance related work which will be undertaking investigations on behalf of other local authorities in the area. There will be a real range of advice related matters and candidates must have experience in this area alongside employment law.
This role would be well suited to a candidate who has 3 years PQE + and a strong background in employment and governance law within a public sector organisation or alternatively dealing with public sector clients in private practice.
This firm is an alternative business structure of three local authorities and provides legal services to a range of other public sector bodies which include NHS, CCGS and charities in the area alongside other local government bodies. They have a flexible working policy, the option to work from different offices or based in one office and the opportunity to apply to the local government pension scheme.
