A friendly London Borough Council is seeking a locum Employment Lawyer to join them on a part-time basis to work remotely.

This locum assignment will start on a 3-month contract and is expected to be extended on a rolling basis in line with workloads. My client is seeking an Employment Lawyer who can work 21-30 hours, depending on your preference and the demands of the workload. For example, you may wish to work 25 hours every week, or you may want to vary your hours each week depending on the work, my client is happy to be flexible.

The successful Employment Lawyer will be joining a small, welcoming team within a well-respected local authority. The council prides itself on its excellent reputation for legal work and its attitude towards staff wellbeing.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Advising HR, management and schools on:
    • Settlement agreements
    • Management of employees
    • Grievance and disciplinary processes
    • TUPE
    • Pensions
  • Representing clients in ACAS Early Conciliation matters
  • Handling Employment Tribunals
  • Advocacy as preliminary hearings only
