An opportunity has arisen for an Enforcement/ Regulatory Lawyer to join the Enforcement Team of a large Regulatory Body on a permanent basis.
As an Enforcement/ Regulatory Lawyer you will be responsible for the delivery of Criminal/ Regulatory enforcement cases. You will work with a case team made up of technical specialists, including internal lawyers, to assist in progressing a case. You will work collaboratively following investigations, and take over a case from the point of preparing and issuing proceedings through to the conclusion of the case in court or before a Determinations Panel.
As an Enforcement/ Regulatory Lawyer you will lead a team through issuing summonses and undertaking prosecutions in the Magistrates/ Crown Court for a broad range of criminal offences, and/or instigating and following our own regulatory enforcement process
Other duties will include:
- Establishing and delivering regulatory strategies for enforcement
- Negotiating required outcomes of cases with the relevant parties, internally and externally
- Making decisions on case strategies and emerging issues on cases
- Supporting Lead Specialists in their role on individual cases and required areas, both internally and externally
Required skills and experience of
- Experience of instigating and concluding either criminal, regulatory or civil proceedings
- Experience and working knowledge of legal requirements relating to enforcement outcomes
- Experience of communicating at all levels, including drafting enforcement notices, escalations and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Experience dealing with confiscation proceedings
- A qualified lawyer would be advantageous but this is not a requirement for the role
