Finance Assistant

Sellick Partnership are actively recruiting to a 6 month Fixed Term Contract for a Finance Assistant. The role is to provide an effective service to the budget holders.

The main duties of the role will include:

  • Supporting budget holders and manages to identify variances and produce accurate forecasts
  • Ensure all expenditure and income is recorded correctly in the accounts, to enable production of accurate and timely accounts
  • Complete and maintain reconciliations of all charge expenditure and investigate variances and resolve in a timely manor
  • Assist with the reconciliation of any costs that not currently recovered


  • AAT qualified accountant or equivalent professional experience (Desirable)

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • High attention to detail
  • Able to encourage collaboration with others and be a valuable team player
  • Able to work to strict deadlines and manage self through peaks and troughs
  • Adapts positively to change and adopts a flexible approach to the role
  • Ability to explain financial issues in an accessible way to non-finance people
  • Ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with all stakeholders
  • Process improvement resulting in efficiencies in day to day operations

  • A strong commitment to high quality customer service, both internal and external
  • Self-motivated and possess a high standard of work and willingness to develop
  • Ability to use initiative and take ownership for issues that may arise and be proactive
